It has been a long time since I last wrote on this page. Too many things has changed and the schedule keeps getting busier every time. I don't even have time to pee! (Just kidding!)
Anyway, I would just like to share something about a nice text message I got today from an unknown person.
Here it goes...
In a street accident, a woman tried to help the victim but suddenly a nurse came in and said,
"Excuse me! Please step back! I've had a course in first aid and I'm trained in giving CPR."
The woman stepped aside, watched the procedure and said,
"If you need a doctor... I'm just at your back"
Humility counts... Always remember to keep your feet on the ground.

EARTH HOUR 2010
Earth Hour is a global event and is held on the last Saturday of March annually. Businesses or households are asked to turn off their lights and other electrical appliances for one hour. This is made to raise awareness all over the world about the alarming climate change.
Earth Hour started in Australia in 2007. From then, lots of countries have been supporting and participating the Earth Hour.
From the Earth Hour 2009 (last year), reports show that the United States topped the Earth Hour participation followed by Philippines, Greece, Australia and etc. Much electricity were saved from the previous happening.
(How about me? Yes, I did join the Earth Hour 2009. My family and I participated the event and turned off our lights as well as our television and other appliances. Somehow, we just enjoyed talking from our porch and looking at our neighbors in the street doing the same thing in their houses. I think it was fun because my family and I had some bonding moments.)
This year, 2010, WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature or World Wildlife Fund) is assuming more countries will participate and will turn off their lights for the Earth Hour on March 27 from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm local time.
(So, what are you waiting for? Join the Earth Hour and spread the news! Me? Definitely, I'm joining! )
Happy lights off!

Small talk
Small talk is done to have a pleasant conversation about common interests or to break the ice before starting an event or to get friendships started.
Below is an example of a small talk.
It was Monday morning and a woman was waiting for the bus when a man arrived, stood beside her and spoke.
Man: What a beautiful morning. A bit windy, but beautiful.
Woman: Yes, you’re right. I love this kind of weather unlike the very hot and humid weather we’ve experienced in the past days.
Man: Absolutely! I bet the bus hasn’t arrived yet.
Woman: You’re right! I’ve been waiting here for 15 minutes.
Man: Really? I hope it will come soon. I’m in a rush.
Woman: I’ll take a taxi if I were you.
Man: I think you’re right. Thank you.
Woman: You’re welcome.
Let's study:
I bet... = I think.../ I believe...
humid = weather has a high amount of water vapor or wet or you'll feel sticky
rush = hurry
Speak English:
You are in your friend's birthday party. Then, you saw a woman, who looks familiar to you, standing near you. How are you going to break the ice? What questions or topics are you going to use?
^_^
Tell me what you think.
Have a great day!
